Matthew had a brief career in Science having graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor’s degree in
Mathematics, Physics and Chemisty. In 2003, Matthew enrolled at the Conservatorium of Music,
Hobart in Drum Set performance and attained a B. Mus. with First Class Honours in 2007. Since then,
Matthew has played drum set in countless bands and has been the musical director for local theatre
productions. Matthew formed his now popular big band in 2008 that is also the band-on-stage for
the local CROON shows. Matthew also has an interest in choral and barbershop singing. During his
spare time and in order to eat and pay the rent, Matthew teaches drums and percussion at both The
Hutchins School and St. Michael’s Collegiate and teaches general music at Bothwell District High
School.
